Delete your Remember Me account

You can delete your account and your data at any time, from the app or by email.

In the app (fastest)

Open Remember Me and sign in.
On the Home screen, tap your profile picture (top corner) to open Profile.
Scroll down, choose Delete account and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first.

Your account is deleted straight away, and the related data is removed from our servers within a few minutes.

By email

If you can't use the app, email support@remember-me.app with the subject "Delete my account".

If you sign in with email, send the request from the email address on your account.
If you sign in with a phone number, include that phone number in your message.

To protect your memories, we will confirm that the account is yours before deleting anything, for example by asking you to reply from that address or to confirm a code sent to that number. We will complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming, and email you when it is done.

What is deleted

Your sign-in account, including your email address or phone number, and your password.
Your profile (your name) and your plan information.
Your membership in every memorial you were invited to. Other members no longer see you in the member list.
Every memorial you own, with all of its life story, events, family circle, invitations, photos, videos, recordings and other files, including content other members added to it.
The copy of memorials stored on your device for offline use.

What is kept

Your contributions to other people's memorials. Chapters, events, photos or other content you added to a memorial someone else owns stay part of that memorial, under its owner's control. To remove them, delete them in the app before you delete your account, or ask the memorial's owner or us.
Correspondence with our support team, for as long as needed to keep a record of your request.
Deleted data may remain for a short time in our cloud provider's (Google Firebase) systems as part of their normal deletion process, after which it is permanently erased.

Other options

Delete one memorial: if you are its owner, open the memorial and choose to delete it. Everything in it is deleted.
Leave a memorial: you can leave any memorial you were invited to, without deleting your account.
Turn off reminders: reminders are local notifications on your device. Turn them off in the app or in your device's notification settings.
